Soundman Sundays

Zion Movements Sound System was founded in 2004 by two Trinidadians in New York, driven by a shared passion for reggae, dancehall, sound system culture and clash. After establishing a reputation in New York’s 45-clash arena with a collection of rare foundation and reggae vinyl, the sound expanded its connection to Trinidad when one founder returned home in 2010.

Zion Movements evolved to focus on juggling, live entertainment, corporate events and the development of its dub box, while continuing to build its presence in the local sound system scene. From 2014 to 2018, the sound was part of the 90.1FM team, and over the years it has clashed with numerous established sounds and selectors. Between 2023 and 2026, Zion Movements expanded into promotions and event production, hosting 10 dubplate exhibitions and sound clash events.

From New York to Trinidad, vinyl to dubplates, the foundation remains the same: music, culture and movement.
